A short walk takes you to bold open ocean frontage on King Phillips Trail where there are spectacular sunrises. Less than a 5 minute drive takes you to Ocean Point where you can watch a breathtaking sunset (don't forget your camera).
downtown boothbay harbor is 45 miles away and offers numerous shops, galleries, restaurants and great night life. Ocean cruises are available here for lobster/clam bakes, as well as whale and seal watching excursions. The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens (the largest in New England) is less than 10 minutes from the chapel and offers over 250 acres of waterfront and woodland trails; it also includes sensory gardens, impressive waterfalls, stonework, and a great Cafe.
