Positive: We spent a week at Apartment Krnicar in Zgornje Gorje, and it was one of our best stays ever. The apartment was a wonderful surprise and a perfect base for exploring Lake Bled, the surrounding villages, and Triglav National Park. The location is peaceful, surrounded by greenery and nature. The host, Spela, was the most generous and kind host we have met. She did everything to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped, and Spela left beers and juice in the fridge, along with a basket full of dried fruits and sweets as a welcome treat. The porch with its hanging chairs was very inviting and relaxing, and the living room and kitchen area were spacious and cozy. You have to walk through one of the bedrooms to reach the living room and kitchen, and there is a narrow staircase leading up to the apartment. Since it is in the attic, a few spots have low beams, but that was not a problem for us, since we're not too tall :-) Parking is right below the apartment. A great restaurant we returned to several times, Pizzerija Betlehem, is only a five minute drive away. It was truly one of our best accommodation experiences, and we are very thankful to Spela for her warm hospitality and all the thoughtful touches throughout the week.
Negative: Access is through a narrow staircase, and some parts of the attic have low beams, but it really didn't bother us too much.
Summary: A peaceful stay in nature with a kind host, well-equipped kitchen, and easy access to Lake Bled.
