Positive: It was in a beautiful secluded spot which gave lots of opportunity to be in and around nature. It was very basic and simple, though this was exactly as described.
Negative: The water seemed unsafe; it was yellow and smelled of sulphur and iron. We could not bathe our children in this. We bought and drank bottled water as there was no information about the water. The information for the property was only provided in Norwegian. The TV appears to be a decoder box which we were nervous to use as they’re illegal in the U.K. We did not realise it was a composting toilet. This smelt really bad and required regular changing. The decking/veranda is rotten and missing wood in places. We were nervous to let the children play on it as there was no might have put feet through it. We were not aware of the significant steep walk to the house which was like a scramble at times with a rope provided to assist the ascent; This was completely unknown until we received an email directly from the owners the night before arrival. We had two young children with us and when it rained it made it dangerous to navigate the climb over the boulder. Whilst the description of the property states not suitable for mobility impaired people it did not state why and we assumed it was because of stairs. We would not have booked had we known this.
