2 Bedroom Cabin in Bigfork
Our 900 sq foot home away from home is a recently remodeled 2 bedroom cabin each with queen sized beds, with one bath w. shower, open kitchen and living room with gas fireplace.
it has a spacious kitchen with custom cabinets and wood floors Breakfast bar, four person table, and lakeside dining area.
in the living room kick back and relax in the leather reclining sofa, and reclining love seat Behind the sofa, facing the lake, is a futon for extra seating or optional sleeping area (full size bedding for futon provided). Three glass sliding doors provides a panoramic view of the lake.
the bedrooms each have a queen sized bed and ceiling fans above The living room area has a window air-conditioner, and we have one portable fan at the cabin. In the living room, on the other side of sofa is a futon that can be setup with full sized bedding provided. (Guests must provide their own bedding if they want to sleep on a sofa.)
the deck has an outdoor propane grill, with large picnic table Extra chairs provided for lounging. The cabin is eastern facing for that gorgeous afternoon sun over the lake. Down the steps from deck is a charcoal grill available for your use. Guests must provide their own charcoal and lighter fluid.
by the water is a large fire pit stocked with firewood, perfect for evening campfires while roasting marshmallows under the big pines We provide the roasting sticks.
the dock contains a bench with room for two Great for fishing or watching the loons. Near the water we have a electricity available to plugin a trolling motor. (Recommend you bring 100' ext. cord) You are welcome to dock up to one boat at our dock.
the shore area by the dock starts out at about 2' and ends about 5'-6' The swimming area between the docks is perfect for lounging in a water chair and enjoying the clear cool water.
two kayaks (one sit in, and one sit on-top) and one paddle board are available for use The cabin is in a bay, out of the wind. The lake has many little islands to kayak around. We have some life jackets available, but since they vary by size you may wish to bring your own.
turtle lake is one of the best fishing lakes around! it has a great variety of fish including walleye, bass, northern, and big crappies on this pristine, spring-fed, 2,000 acre lake and large enough for all your water sport needs! it is a 2,066 acre glacial lake recognized as one of minnesota's top smallmouth bass fisheries The best time for Walleye fishing is early June or late August, with trolling right in front of the dock ideal.
located in the historic arcadia park The area provides opportunities to go 4-wheeling, hiking, fishing, hunting, or boating. There are several antique stores, and restaurants in the area. We provide a list of what is in the area.
all the homes/cabins on this lake are required to have holding tanks instead of septic systems, so we ask guests to be conservative with their water usage with short showers and caution when washing dishes If the tank indicates it is close to full during your stay we request to be contact ASAP to schedule for it to be emptied.
the water is well water, save to drink but not to everyone's taste We recommend you bring bottled water for drinking and cooking.
guests should bring their own kitchen towels, bath towels, toilet paper, food, dish washing soap etc.. There is a convenience store just 3.5 miles away and grocery store 12 miles if you forget anything. We provide a list of local businesses and directions near the cabin.
we provide only the garbage bags, coffee filters, and dish washing soap You must bring any house hold items for your own use like hand soap, paper towels, paper plates, napkins, toilet paper, spices etc.. Other items to consider packing are: blankets, pillows, bath towels, wash clothes, kitchen towels, suntan lotion, shampoo, soap, mosquito repellent, dish soap, toilet paper, tin foil, paper towels, paper plates, napkins, charcoal, lighter fluid, spices, food and beverages.
cell phone coverage in this area can be tough Verizon and AT&T do work in this area but you will have be on deck to get the best signal. Guests can always drive to a convenience store that provides WIFI. There is no WIFI at the cabin. (We enjoy being with our kids with them off their phones and Xbox.)
house rules:
1 No pets, and no smoking in the cabin or on the property. Not suitable for large/noisy groups.
2 Strict limit occupancy of MAX five people. Limit of two vehicles on the premises. MAX limit of one (max 18') boat.
3 Due to the high cost of getting the holding tank dumped there if limit of REGISTERED guests is exceeded the deposit will not be refunded.
4 No fireworks allowed.
5 no moving furniture
we do not refund based on power outage or weather conditions
