Positive: It is a nice big house, with big bedrooms and living areas. It was clean and comfortable, well-equipped and tastefully decorated. It is located in a nice village, with a mini-market, and two cafés.
Negative: The booking of the place was complicated. We did it through Booking, and received the following message "You don't need to prepay. However, the property may take a deposit from the card you booked with. This is a routine procedure to verify that it is valid and hasn't been lost or stolen. The hold is temporary and the amount will be returned to you in full." But then we received a message that we needed to pay 3 days before arrival, but we could not understand how to do it. We called the owner, and they also did not seem to know how to do it and suggested a bank transfer of the cost plus 300 euros of deposit. We were not keen on exchanging payment outside the Booking platform. I eventually found out that I could go into payment and click "pay now". I still had to pay 300 cash on the day for the deposit, got a receipt and then the money back the following day. The person I interacted with was very friendly, but didn't seem to know how the process worked. Also, initially we were told "The keys are in a lockbox on location. On check-out, guests leave the key in the property", but in the end had to arrange with a person to do the check in and the check out, which is not particularly convenient, as you have to plan some time ahead. Other issues: - The advertised hot tub was not useable. It had not been cleaned and it was full of dirty water. - We were a party of 10 people, but only got one key. - The property has three floors. Emergency exits were signalled, but were locked, and we only had the key to the main entrance. - Everyone agreed that the pillows were very uncomfortable. - We could not make the air-conditioning work in one of the floors, and had to open the windows instead during the night. - Sleep was disturbed by barking dogs as well as the bells of the nearby church that mark the hour and every quarter of an hour since 6 a.m. - The liquid soap was missing from some bedrooms, as well as the TV remote control.
