Positive: This is a simply wonderful place to stay for a taste of rural life in a beautiful Spanish village. Our hostess Michelle and her family were exceptional hosts and gave us a brilliant introduction to the area. Michelle speaks good English, a blessing as we know hardly any Spanish! The ancient house has been lovingly restored to keep all the original features. Our room had it's own ensuite and a portable aircon unit, and a little balcony overlooking the front of the Ducal Palace and the Plaza. Michelle's family also own Cafetería Dante, the charming cafe/delicatessen on the ground floor where a delicious "Special Pastrana Breakfast" is available as well as home-made cakes and specialist coffees. We stayed during the 2026 Eclipse and Fiesta which was a real treat, with parades, a bull run we watched from our balcony, dancing in the Plaza and busy local bars and cafes ...and we loved the beautiful walks up the hillsides to viewpoints high above the village.
