In 1585, this castle in Tuscany was donated by the Grand Duke Francesco de Medici to the well-known sculptor Giambologna, who, in turn, passed it to his pupil Pietro Tacca when he died. In the late nineteenth century, it was purchased by Count Roberto Pandolfini and his wife Beatrice dei Principi Corsini. It has remained within this family ever since and in 1999, Elizabeth Pandolfini inherited the ownership of the castle and spent a number of years restoring it to its former glory.
