Summary: It is quite a hike from the nearest train station, but within Loreto the location is great. It is just a five minute walk to the Basilica. The Domus Pacis used to be pilgrim accommodation run by nuns. A year and a half ago it was taken in concession by a local family who also run a restaurant and a souvenir shop in town. The room was very simple but had all the things one could expect in a hotel room - tv, fridge, bed linen, toiletries and even a small balcony. There is no air conditioning but there is an electric fan in the room. The breakfast was very nice, better than in some hotels. They even make you REAL coffee. The family who runs the house is very nice. The mother is the boss and all the men work for her. I also had dinner and lunch in their restaurant which is a five minute walk from the hotel. The food was great and they have a terrace with a breath-taking view of the surrounding hills and the sea.
