Positive: We were surprised how much we liked Crotone. It happened to be on our way as we drove around the boot of Italy. Francesco was an amazing host. He is one of the kindest people we met on this trip. He got us last minute dinner reservations at a great place downtown. We rented the third floor room and it was beautiful. The ocean was a very short walk from the property. Francesco also helped us out with our agenda as we traveled on to Matera and beyond. He recommended a small but vibrant museum that really summarized the archaeology and history of Magna Graecia better than several other places we saw. He is a native of Crotone and we learned a lot from him. We look forward to coming back for a longer stay.
