Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: We had a fantastic two-night half-board stay. The rooms were very comfortable, the food was excellent with generous portions, and the half-price bar from 7:30–10:30 in the ballroom was a great bonus. The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. The Wednesday night entertainment was outstanding, with a great selection of songs that suited the audience perfectly—lots of people were up dancing and clearly having a wonderful time.

Negative: Unfortunately, Thursday night didn’t quite live up to that standard. Although Jane was very pleasant, her choice of music—ranging from 80s and 90s hits to The Killers and ballads—didn’t really suit the older audience. As a result, there was noticeably less dancing and overall enjoyment. The contrast with Wednesday night made this more apparent. We ended up leaving early and heading to the Burlington Hotel, where we saw an act called Melodie. They were fantastic—their song choices were spot-on for the crowd, the dance floor was full, and it made for a brilliant end to the evening. This is the only reason I couldn’t give a full 5-star rating. On a positive note, Melodie do perform at this hotel on Sundays and Wednesdays, which is definitely something to look forward to. The only constructive criticism would be that adding background music in the reception area would really enhance the atmosphere.
