Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Very nice apartment, very clean, great location and great access to explore the Dolomites. The deck of the apt overlooked Castlerotto below. About 20 min walk to Castlerotto bus station. From bus station, <10 min ride to Seiser Alm Cable lift outside Castelrotto and about 25 min bus ride to St Ulrich Seiser Alm to access lifts to Val Gardena area. We had a car, but rode the bus to the Val Gardena lifts to avoid parking fees there (13 €/day). The owner (Petra) provided us with a complimentary 7 day bus pass. It's a bus pass that is provided to licensed hospitality hosts to give to guests to support tourism there. The owner was very accommodating...took our bread order every evening and delivered fresh bread from the bakery each morning by 7. Also allowed us a late check out. Would stay there again.

Negative: We would have appreciated some basic spice packets, salt/pepper and coffee in the kitchen to start our stay and get us through our first meal/morning. Wouldn't prevent us from staying there again, but it is located next to a cattle barn and surrounded by picturesque green grassy pastures. The adjacent lot had a manure/ compost pile so we'd occasionally get a whiff, but it wasnt offensive and there wasn't any fly problem. We appreciated seeing livestock sustained on grasses and regenerative farming practices used as nature intended. Again this wasn't an issue for us at all, but some may be looking for more city-like accommodations versus a farm setting.

Summary: Very nice accommodations! Great access to the Dolomites.
