the historic towns of fish creek, walkerville, foster, toora and meeniyan are an easy drive away, offering outstanding local produce, art galleries, cafes, restaurants and wineries
also in easy reach is the historic cape liptrap lighthouse and walkerville lime kilns at the famous magic beach, walkerville south
the great southern rail trail (131kms) runs from nyora to yarram and can be accessed at fish creek, it's ideal for biking or walking
- getting around
sandy point is a lovely village to stroll around, however getting beyond this you will need your own car
- other things to note
due to the closure of the gippsland power stations, during peak times (ie. the middle of summer) we are prone to power blackouts. Mobile phone coverage can also be poor, travellers are advised to use Telstra for the best coverage in our area. This is unfortunately completely out of our control.
