Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: 4 of us stayed in this clean and tidy property during February. Considering it's a terraced house, all of the areas are very spacious. The Old Forge is well located opposite the green, in the centre of Exford village. There are 2 pubs that serve delicious food, 2 shops for necessary supplies and 1 tea room. Numerous walks are available from the village centre. On street parking is available, but there is a sizeable public car park around the corner. There's plenty of seating in the living room with several coat hooks for jackets, etc. There is an electric fire/ heater that makes the space cosy for cooler months. The kitchen/diner is well equipped and nice for eating together. There's a freezer and tumble dryer in the back porch, which leads out to the pretty garden. The pretty twin bedroom has an en suite shower, 1 set of drawers and a small garment hanging rail. The master bedroom, at the front of the property, is wonderfully large with a set of drawers, bedside tables, and a small area for hanging clothes. This room has a useful blackout blind. The main bathroom - effectively the en suite to the master bedroom - has a shower over the bath. This is a nice property, which needs a couple of minor inexpensive tweaks. We would stay again and recommend it to others.
Negative: It would have been useful to have : More coat hooks downstairs - particularly with 4 people in winter A couple more chopping boards A long length mirror Hooks in the bathroom for robes, etc I hope the owner isn't offended, but the sofas (which were probably once very comfortable) felt as though they could do with an upgrade after sitting on them for a while. Also, the master bed mattress needs to be replaced as it's beginning to sag in the middle.
