Positive: It is in a quiet peaceful rural location well away from the madness of the Luxor tourist areas, but If you want to visit the West Bank archaeological sites this is a good base. A local taxi would ferry you round from here. If you want a comfortable, quiet, private place to chill out this is perfect. There is loads of room and there are good places to hang out whatever the temperature including a roof terrace. The building itself is of traditional form and is quite charming. There are a number of good (but very simple) restaurants in walking distance. There is a small village, also in walking distance, for shopping. You do need to either be prepared to walk or use taxis to get around from here. The Property owner and his local manager (and the resident cat!) were very welcoming and helpful.
Negative: Probably just a result of the location but, everything was pretty dusty and surfaces often needed to be cleaned down before use. You wouldn't want to wear smart clothes here - but then it isn't that sort of place.
Summary: Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and a glimpse of rural Egyptian life.
