Summary: Pretty much what I expected. I have been coming to Waikiki since I was 18 years old and have been there probably 25 times now. I have stayed at most of the major hotels, Outrigger , Royal, Moana, Hyatt, Marriot, Sherriton and some of the lower rent spots when just dropping in for a weekend surf session without the family.. I wanted to try something a lttke out of the way but still in the surf zone. The room was basic but comfortable and I appreciated the view of the zoo. Really the only green zone in Waikiki. Hulas bar really is feet from the door which is great for a cheap happy hour Mai Tai but a little loud when the drunks get out at the end of the night. Overall I got the vibe of what it might be like to have a little crash pad of my own and felt like I got that and it was refreshing not to be in the middle of the human soup in the center of the tourist zone where I could try new places to eat and chill with a more local vibe and better prices. If you are familiar with Waikiki and looking for a place to crash for a surfing trip and don’t need a luxury hotel with an ocean view this is pretty good for the price.
